and they’d tell each other jokes in enochian and the doctor will laugh because let’s face it he’ll laugh at practically anything and cas will be pleased to talk with someone in his language again

and each time they hang out in the TARDIS, cas’ll run his fingers along her main console because it’s nice when he can feel the life vibrating — positively purring — underneath and he’ll smile a little and the doctor will be pleased someone else understands his baby

and they’ll only meet once in a while because they have separate lives and responsibilities and adventures and they both understand that and it’ll be the kind of friendship where separation doesn’t matter because when they do get together they’ll just sit quietly at a park bench watching people be people because watching humanity really never gets old
